Dear God, I take time on this beautiful day to direct all my thoughts, all my energy on you. I want to know you, and to be in a relationship with you.
I confess, God, that so many time in my life, I let fear take over. I completely fail, not to only follow you, but to be the person you call me to be in this world that so desperately needs me to be that. But God remind me today and every day that you are with me ALWAYS. Remind me that you are in my corner, supporting me, guiding me, directing me, carrying me when I can’t carry myself. And if you are for me, who can be against me?
God, help me to listen to you, truly listen to you. Give me the courage to step outside of myself and be active in this world so that I can truly change it for the better, so that it can become your kingdom on earth...like it is in heaven.
God I am so grateful for your love and mercy that makes all this possible in my life. I am grateful for everything I have. May I always live and make decisions in honor of you and your love.
In the name of your Holy son and by the power of your Holy spirit,
Amen.

A Lenten Prayer
God, order my disordered heart.
Let me see in whoever is an enemy and stranger to me the other half of myself that I refuse to embrace.
Loving Spirit, perfect the image of your love in me every day. Create an inclusive heart within me.
Let my heart become peaceful. May I bring peace wherever I go and to whomever I encouter.
Amen.

Enlightenment
O God,
enlighten our understandings with knowledge of that which is right,
and govern our wills by your law,
that no deceit may mislead us,
no temptation corrupt us,
that we may always endeavor to do good and hinder evil.
Amid all the hope and fears of this world, take not your Holy Spirit from us.
Amen.

A (belated) New Year Prayer
Dear God,
As the new year has started, we are excited for the chance to start over…a new semester, a new routine, a new cycle. With all our hearts we embrace the hope that this time can bring to our daily life.
We know that even as we hope for a new start, you were with us last year, and are with us now as we face the future, and will be with us always, within us, loving us, guiding us and showing us grace whatever happens. We thank you so much for that.
We know there will be times this year, that we question, times that we doubt, times that we forget you and your love for us. And God we are grateful for your forgiveness and grace that ulimately makes that ok...but help us to remember that as we get back into the swing of things, as we go back to work and to school…help us to remember that in every situation we find ourselves you are our God, and it is you to whom we owe our inspiration, our hope, our love, our life.
God, be with those who need to feel you with them right now, those in this room and around the world who need to feel you as this year begins…bless those who are working and serving in the name of love and truth and justice and peace…those who are working and serving in your name.
We thank you for this new day, and this new year. May your presence and blessings be felt by all now and in the year to come. In the name of your Holy son, by the power of your Holy Spirit.
Amen.

A (belated) Thankgiving Prayer
O God, it is by your hand that the seasons come and go,
and you make the fruits of the earth according to our human needs.
We thank you that you have brought us through the circuit of another year,
and that according to your promise seedtime and harvest have not failed.
At the remembrance of your goodness we offer our thanksgivings
and pray that you will feed our souls with the Bread of Life.
Amen.

A Buddhist Prayer
We will be kind and gentle to every living thing and protect those who are weaker than ourselves.
We will think pure and beautiful thoughts, say pure and beautiful words, and do pure and beautiful deeds.
Amen.

Self-Acceptance
I pray for the willingness to remember that I am a child of God, a divine soul in human form, and that my most basic and urgent life-task is to accept, know, love and nurture myself. As I accept myself, I am accepting God's will. As I know and love myself, I am knowing and loving God. As I nurture myself I am acting on God's guidance. I pray for the willingness to let go of my arrogant self-criticism, and to praise God by humbly accepting and caring for myself.
Amen.
Amen.
